Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal (1622-1653) is the crown of all buildings, literally and figuratively. It is one of the 7 modern wonders of the world but unrivalled by the rest for it is a monument of love, for love and to love. It was erected by Emperor Shah Jahan as homage to his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Agra Fort

Agra Fort is also known as Lal Qila for it is similar in texture to its counter building in Delhi. It is described as a walled regal city full of luxuries and delicate designs. Jama Masjid

Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb

Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb is yet another contribution of the Mughal reign (Noor Jahan) in the ancient city of Agra. Going with the Sobriquet Jewel Box, it is often regarded as a descendant of the Taj Mahal. This grand affair is enhanced by a number of equally exotic but small buildings and garden in the compound.

Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri (1570) is a historical city situated near Agra, constructed by the greatest of all Mughals, Emperor Akbar. It took 15 years to construct the city. But it could not serve as the Mughal capital due to the problem of water scarcity. Yet it has survived centuries and never ceased to lyre tourists.

Taj Mahotsav

Taj Mahotsav or Taj Jubilee is a yearly festive event stretching for 10 days. It ceremoniously begins on 18th February and winds up on 27th February. It is held in a small place called Shilpgram in Agra. It attracts countless tourists due to its cultural importance dating back to the times of Mughals and Nawabs.

Mehtab Bagh
